After months of leaks and rumors, the lid has finally been lifted AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Specificationas a new game GPU has just been announced on Computex. The price and release date for the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT have not yet been removed, but AMD has a glimpse into the specifications of the 9060 XT, suggesting that the launch of this new graphics card is imminent.

After securing the best graphics card titles with mid-range graphics cards, this new AMD GPU aims for the cheaper edge of the graphics card market. AMD has already proven that the RDNA 4 architecture could be a formidable force in its Radeon RX 9070 XT review, but Nvidia offers a strong competition with the RTX 5060 TI, so AMD must absolutely nail this price too.

AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Specification

The Radeon RX 9060 XT specifications are as follows:

Radeon RX 9060 XT Specification
GPU Architecture AMD rDNA 4
Calculate the units 32
Stream Processor 2,048
RT Core 32
There is a core 64
interface 16x PCIE 5.0
Boost Clock 3.13GHz
vram 8GB/16GB
Total board power 150-182W
Power Connector 1 x 8 pin

As previously rumored, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT actually comes in both 8GB and 16GB flavors, but the company particularly emphasizes the latter. “The Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB variant is a great upgrade for gamers looking to prevent future systems in the future,” says AMD.

As we found in the Nvidia Geforce RTX 5060 TI review, 16GB of VRAM has 8GB cards fallen in some of the latest demanding games like Indiana Jones and the Big Circle, and is now a sweet spot in the $500 graphics card market.

Meanwhile, the GPU itself has 32 computing units, each containing RT cores for raytracing workloads, and AMD promises that this GPU will also “double raytracing throughput compared to previous generations.” AMD has not officially announced the number of stream processors for GPUs, but it can be resolved from known structures of the RDNA 4 architecture. 32 computer units offer 2,048 stream processors.

AMD also confirmed that the new GPU includes 64 AI cores. This can be used to play the game on AMD’s FSR 4 Upscaling Tech. FSR 4 has been significantly upgraded across all previous versions of FSR. In other words, AMD ultimately gained a decent rival to DLSS in terms of image quality. However, AMD is still behind Nvidia when it comes to frame Gen, and the latest RTX 5000 series GPUs can now use AI to generate up to three additional frames between each truly rendered pair.

AMD is doing a big deal on AI performance on the new GPU, but it cites performance on the 821 tops and makes it clear that it supports FP8 datasets and structured sparse. In comparison, according to Nvidia, the GeForce RTX 5060 TI performance is at 759 top, but all of these numbers should be taken in salt granules until they are tested independently.

Meanwhile, AMD has confirmed that the Radeon RX 9060 XT clock speed is 3.13GHz (boost), which is 160MHz higher than the 9070 XT’s top boost clock. The company also states that the power draw on the Radeon RX 9060 XT is 150-182W across graphics power, and that number will likely fluctuate depending on whether the GPU is overclocked or not.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card is installed and the power cable is displayed.

AMD has shown a rendering of the stock 9060 XT card, which states that the 9060 XT card is only available from board partners and is not scheduled to be sold. However, the rendering shows off another important part of the spec. This means that the 9060 XT requires a single 8-pin power connector, if it is running at least at stock speeds.

Finally, another part of the spec I’m happy to see is the complete 16x PCIE 5.0 interface. This is overpowered for this graphics card on a PCIE 5.0 motherboard, but it means that if you put this GPU on a PCIE 3.0 or PCIE 4.0 motherboard, you can get 16 lanes. Other GPUs, including the RTX 5060 TI, drop down on the 8x PCIE 5.0 interface, which can affect performance as they only get 8 lanes on older motherboards.

AMD RADEON RX 9060 XT Release Date Estimated

Our best estimate for AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT release date is June 2025because AMD has not made an official announcement based on rumors and speculation. Rumors of the Radeon RX 9060 XT launch suggest that graphics cards will be available for purchase in June, weeks after the official May 2025 announcement.

AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Price Estimate

Our best estimate for AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT priced at $399 for a 16GB card and $329 for an 8GB cardbecause no official announcement has been made. Previous price rumours for the 9060 XT have made the prices at $519.99 and $449.99 respectively, but these prices make the new GPU much more expensive than the RTX 5060 TI, at least when it comes to MSRP. Given the highly competitive price of the 9070 cards compared to the RTX 5070 series, AMD could aggressively price the 9060 XT, but this is all speculation.
