I have no worries about what I say p’s lie It was my game of the year in 2023. I’m awful with Souslikes, but there was something about Neowiz’s fascinating lore and stunning world. want For a good git. After dozens of hours and countless challenges, when I finally finished the game, I was still more prepared.

Just two years later, you’ll get lying to P Overture, a prequel DLC that expands the world of Soulslike and completely changes the base game, and the introduction of difficulty settings adds to tons of playability and opens it to new players.

I recently visited Paramour Estate in Los Angeles and played an additional hour of the new Boss Rush mode, which will arrive later this year as a free update along with the aforementioned difficulty options.

Overture DLC was a known quantity, but this new base game update is a complete surprise. You can bring P’s lies back to the spotlight and enjoy the fresh waves of players, but invite hardened veterans to take on the game’s toughest challenges.

We played the opening hour of Overture, starting with a trekking through a snowy forest. I thought it would serve as a good way to reunite in control and combat before the actual action began, but oh, how naive I was. I was immediately thrown into battle with powerful beasts, including polar bears with torture cages held to my head. The fight was tough, but I just pulled it out.

I also quickly found the update Fluid New Movement Animations. P jumps, jumps into the attack as he sprints, drags Legion’s arm to the ground, slides when he evades, kicks the sparks as he goes. These new tweaked animations are Smooth It looked great, but I forced them to micro-tune the timing of their attacks so they wouldn’t give up on free hits.

The rest of my preview was spent on Krat Zoo. This crossed the gunblade, one of several new weapons, in his hand, like Final Fantasy 8. It is classified as a sword. This means that while it’s pretty average when it comes to stamina drainage, attack speed and damage, you can charge it and use a revolver-style handle to deal a lot of damage. There is also a giant double-pin wheel blade that picks up a bundle of momentum during sprints. I especially liked Wolverine-style claws, bows and arrows.

We also tested several new Legion Arms, including Cataclysm, a double-barrel shotgun arm, and Icarus, which can fire up to four deadly rotating blades back to P’s arm after a short time.

I went on the Krat Zoo and was relieved to say that if you like P’s environment and level of design, the overture would be a hit with the same level of quality. Whenever I made the wrong turn or ventured off a beaten path, I have always found something worth finding, whether it’s a shortcut or a stash of useful items.

It’s surreal to see most of the snow-covered environments. This is a change in P’s mood towards lies. The overall color palette here is also surprisingly bright.

Given that the Overture is clearly designed as an Endgame DLC, it makes sense that its early enemies would pack a real punch. However, I didn’t feel that it was unfair or cheap. Still, I hope to know what I’m doing from the jump. Don’t expect a reintroduction of chills.

My only disappointment was that I spent time before facing the tyrannical predators, the main boss of the region. If this is just a snippet of what you can expect from Lies in the P Overture, then it could be that my 2025 Game of the Year is DLC and I’m totally ok with it.

Beyond the overture, other incoming calls include the memory of the battle and the march of death. Memories of the battle provided special rewards to complete the hardest tier by taking on the boss that was previously defeated to Tier 5. Death March is a gauntlet mode where you fight consecutive bosses with limited health and items. These gauntlets are custom scenarios and you can make yourself as easy or as hard as you want, as you have up to three bosses in March.

As for boss lash mode, this allows you to face the boss you have already defeated, in order to try and defeat the best clear time. You can also set up boss gauntlets to quickly and in a row against bosses.

When it comes to difficulty options, the default will soon be known as the “Legendary Stalker”, with two simple options being “Butterfly Guidance” and “Awakened Doll.” Between these new additions and the DLC itself, there was never a better time to step into the world of Krat and discover why P’s lies are far more than anything like other souls.
