The first 11 seasons of Keenan Allen’s career were spent with chargers. Following the 2023 season, Allen was unable to sign a contract with Los Angeles. They then traded him for a bear.
Keenan Allen only lasted one season in Chicago and was more free agent than in the 2025 season. Last Friday, the veteran WR worked for the Chargers. Recently, NFL Insider announced that Keenan Allen will be returning to the charger in a one-year, $8.52 million deal. This is Allen’s 12th season with Los Angeles.

On a three-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Chargers chose Wr Keenan Allen from Cal. Allen played in 139 games in Los Angeles for over 11 seasons, starting 134. The 33-year-old always leads the charger with reception (904) and reception yards (10,530). During the 2023 season, Allen set a single season reception record at 108.
That was despite Allen missing out on the final four games of the season due to a heel injury. After Allen’s 2023 campaign with the charger, the two parties were unable to reach a long-term contract. Allen was then traded for the Bears and played the 2024 season. He played 15 of his 17 games, earning 70 catches for 774 yards and seven touchdowns.

After signing a one-year contract with Chicago in 2024, Keenan Allen was a free agent. It was a logical conclusion that the Chargers would reunite with Allen after Mike Williams suddenly retired this offseason. With Allen not around in 2024, Chargers rookie WR Rudd McConkey had a breakout season. He finished with 82 catches with 1,149 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Rudd McConkey will be Justin Herbert’s top target in 2025, but adds a familiar face. That’s a bonus for Herbert. The young quarterback has not pitched 30 passing touchdowns in the season since 2021.
