While studying in Italy in 2007, Amanda’s roommate, Meredith Kercherwas brutally murdered. Amanda and her then boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecitonamed the suspect, she was thrown into prison. After maintaining her innocence, Amanda fought teeth and nails for charm, eventually winning in 2015. Her murder conviction was finally overturned and she was eventually allowed to return to the United States as a free woman.
Since her illegal incarceration, Amanda has spoken about criminal justice reform and hosted the podcast, “The Truth About True Crimes with Amanda Knox.” She started dating the author Christopher Robinson Shortly after her prison release. They got married in 2020.
