BBC Film’s Eva Yates, Stephen Graham, Rose Glass among 534 invited to join Academy

BBC film directors Eva Yates and Stephen Graham; Oscar winners Mikey Madison, Kieran Culkin, Gintzilbaradis, And filmmakers Rose Glass and Colaley Farsey are among the 534 people invited to join the academy.

Included in the list Ireland actor Andrew Scott, Brazilian star Fernanda Torres, British celebrities Jody Comer, Emma Collin and Adam Pearson, Jeremy Strong and Sebastian Stan. Directors Jane Schoenbrunn, Halina Rain, Mamadoo Deer, Emily Atef and freshly anointed Cannes Special Award winner Bi Gunn are also invited.

Executive and producer invitees include Film Nation marketing veteran Hetapaate, film distributor Sales Heads Andrew Hurwitz, Neon’s Christan Fiegeroid, Universal EVP Global Communications, Media Relations Evan Langweiler, Neon Head Tom Quinn, Goodchaos founder Mike Goodridge, and Mbi’s main content Jason Ropel.

If all 2025 invitees accept membership and the overwhelming majority are made, the academy’s total membership, including honor, will be increased to 11,120, and the number of voting members to 10,143.

In that case, membership consists of 35% of women, 22% underrated communities, and 21% international.

“Through our commitment to filmmaking and the larger film industry, these highly talented individuals have made an indelible contribution to our global filmmaking community,” said Bill Kramer, CEO of the Academy and Janet Yang, chairman of the Academy.

The 98th Oscar Ceremony will be held on March 15th, 2026. The nominations will be announced on January 22, 2026.
