Benelux launches co-development fund to boost regional collaboration

Exclusive: Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg are establishing the new Venelux joint development fund, which is launched today (May 17) in Cannes as part of an effort to introduce Benelux as a major joint production area within the European landscape.

The Flanders Audiovisual Fund, Centre du Cinema et et Audiobisell, Woronia Brussels, Dutch Film Fund and Film Fund Luxembourg are all behind the new fund.

Filmmakers with live-action fiction and animation projects can now apply for a development grant of 50,000 euros per project.

The aim is to facilitate Venellax filmmakers to collaborate together on projects like Svenbresser’s Dutch Belgia collaboration Leadland, It will be shown in Critics Week.

Related activities include international festivals and joint promotion activities in markets.
