Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent called for a “basic reset” of financial regulations on Monday, consistent with national and international priorities.
Speaking at the Federal Reserve Capital Conference, Bescent said banking regulations require “deeper reforms,” and the system is marked by “reflexive regulation,” and bank regulators tend to introduce new rules after they have already occurred.
