Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent said on July 6 that the Trump administration is approaching securing several trade deals ahead of the July 9 deadline, where higher tariffs are expected to begin.

Bescent told CNN’s “Union Status” that President Donald Trump intends to send letters to several US trading partners, saying “If things don’t move, we’ll return to the tariff levels of August 1st and April 2nd.”
