BENQ’s X3100I gaming projector was released at the end of 2023 and is based on the success of the 2022 flagship X3000I. During my testing, I found that the X3100I easily configured clear 4K resolution and overall image quality, and I liked it.

Even at 4K at 16.7ms, you won’t get a smooth and generous experience, especially if you’re not playing intense RPGs or RTS titles.

However, some of the design options are questionable. With its bulky design, the X3100I is not a portable projector and may find it difficult to install on the ceiling. But if you’re chasing the best 4K gaming projectors around it more than you visually make up for it.

The Acer Predator GD711 is a high-end LED projector created in the game at the core, costing a considerable amount of money to the ground. At 4K resolution, it has a whopping 2,000,000 contrast ratio, moderately vivid brightness at 4,000 ANSI lumens, ample ports, and wireless connections connect the device.

But what I like about Acer is the fact that it packs a variable refresh rate. This means you can enjoy 1080p at 60Hz or 1080p on a PC at 240Hz and 1080p at 120Hz on a console at 1080p.

Offering an incredible 300-inch screen size, Auto Keystone means that if the projector is incorrectly positioned, the projector automatically corrects for trapezoidal distortion, and when inverted into game mode, the image will be fine-tuned. Our expert reviewers found it easy to set up and praised the responsiveness, but found it lacked color clarity.

10W mono speakers offer an all-round media solution if you don’t have a computer speaker, but there is no real punch or volume. tHis Acer Predator GD711 is on the more expensive side, but that’s the best option for a serious game.

The Benq X500i is a projector that offers great clarity and colours for a wide range of media, but offers certain amazing visuals and gaming features. It also features a 4K HDR resolution and low 4MS input delay in game modes, which reviewers discovered in “smooth buttery gameplay.”

The X500I is integrated with Google TV via the Android TV streaming stick on the back. This means you can access your favorite apps like Netflix. There are controls at the top of the unit, and the included remote controls have even more controls. Also, while image corrections and keystones are not as advanced as the Xgimi Halo+, it’s still easy and easy to take great photos.

During the test, the audio was found to be balanced basic, but the vocals also had clear high notes. The BENQ X500I is not “cheap”, but it offers great value for visual and audio quality, making it perfect for ceiling mounts. The BENQ X300G is a more compact cube-shaped version of the BENQ X500I. In short, it is a great 4K portable projector and offers gorgeous and lively photos to watch games and movies. It’s not cheap, but if you want to create a larger screen in a small room, this is the top pick.

Our reviewers called the X300G’s design “stellar” and added that ventilation is perfect for keeping the projector cool, so we never heard it loud. There’s Google TV Dongle Integrated, which adds all the major streaming platforms and apps, including YouTube and Netflix.

4K HDR content is a dream of enjoying games, but if you’re using a PC it drops to 1440p at 120 Hz for smooth performance. 4K is great for entertainment purposes, but for real, competitive games, the 16ms delay is not fast enough.

If you’re getting an X300G and want a beautiful 4K media experience, you’ll need a wonderfully crisp and colorful projector with a simple setup, but not if you want to have this projector somewhere without power. It is portable for games around the house and is a great cinema companion.

This projector is considerably cheaper than many others, but still can offer absolutely amazing 4K image quality with top-notch color accuracy. There is little criticism about the ability to project games from a laptop or PC. As a projector alone, it’s a great all-around.

However, the reason this has a much smaller price stage is that it generally has far fewer features. Yes, there may be fluctuating refresh rates, which are pretty cool, but what’s missing is quite a 3rd party support. Other projectors like Xgimi’s Halo+ offer an entire suite of built-in Google TV and built-in apps. Without these, the GM712 can feel a bit of bare bone.

But the problem is not everyone needs a bell or whi. If you want to project the game onto the wall and allow you to play on a larger scale than you can with a monitor in decent image quality, the GM712 has it.

This projector is not specifically designed with gaming in mind, so if you are looking for a projector to use for a very competitive gaming session, this is probably not for you. If you’re a more casual or solo gamer and are more likely to use a projector for TV and movies too, Dangbei Atom is a great choice.

Conveniently, this projector comes with an already installed Google TV app. This means you’ll get instant access to all your favorite streaming apps, such as Netflix, Disney Plus, Paramount Plus and more. Its variable 40-180 inch display makes it easy to use even in rooms with huge wall space, but we recommend doing it on brightly colored walls. It’s bright enough that you don’t need complete darkness to use it – it still looks good with a little ambient light on.

One of its biggest limitations comes from poor built-in speakers. They are very quiet and stop you from feeling completely immersed in the movies and games you are playing through it. If you are building a setup here, we recommend buying one of the best computer speakers. However, if you already have a healthy solution, this is not a problem.

You can also quiz its large power cable (very inconspicuous) and the fact that it only has one HDMI port, but for the price, there’s more to criticize. Even when projecting at the overall 180-inch size, the image quality is clear and sharp. Meanwhile, its automatic image correction ensures that everything is always well enclosed.

In dark games, enemies can be a little blurry and difficult to identify, so playing many scary horror games can be difficult to enjoy. But the brightly lit platformer can look great. Like we said, you can get a better gaming projector, but this is a solid all-around and a particularly good choice for movie fans.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Xgimi Halo+ is the perfect mini projector for your money. The compact size and built-in battery make it extremely versatile and equally suitable for camping trips, streaming sessions and family gaming nights. Our reviewer got the 2.5 hours of playback XGIMI that we quote.

Halo+ is packed with features that help you take good photos with no experience, with automatic keystone correction, auto focus and intelligent screen alignment effectively adapt to the projection surface, and it takes a few minutes to set up when you run the projector. This isn’t fast enough for advanced gamers, but it’s enough for casual players and families. If you want a versatile projector with excellent image and audio quality, easy setup and portable design, the versatile Halo+ offers an exceptional experience.
