Billy Joel cancels tour due to brain damage

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Billy Joel has announced that he will cancel his upcoming tour dates as his brain injury requires immediate treatment.

in statement On Instagram, the legendary singer and writer, also known as “Piano Man,” states that “following the recent diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), we will be canceling all scheduled concerts.

The statement continues: “This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to issues of hearing, vision and balance.” His letter to fans on Instagram page“Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy has undergone certain physical therapy and is advised to refrain from implementing this recovery period,” he said.

His health, priorities

Joel, 79, said he is grateful for the excellent care he is receiving and is completely committed to prioritizing his health.

“We are so sorry for letting our audience down. Thank you for understanding,” Joel said.

For everyone who has tickets to Billy Joel’s concert, the statement says that no one needs to take action as all tickets will be automatically refunded.

The same post lists all concerts that were cancelled between April 26, 2025 and July 3, 2026. Show No. 17 has been cancelled in the US, Canada and the UK.

“My health must come first while I regret postponing the show,” Joel said. “I look forward to going back to the stage and sharing the joys of live music with the incredible fans.”

He assured him that he was “expected to recover in full.”

Joel stumbled and fell off at a concert in late February 2025. Fans have warned the world through videos uploaded on sites such as Tiktok and others. YouTubehowever, at the time they had no clue what was wrong with his health.
