What was your favorite part of Borderlands 3? Was it toilet humor? I speculate that isn’t the case, and I admit that Gearbox software is wrong with its leaning heavily towards farting gags as part of the series’ regular comedy and dark humor. Luckily, the developers confirmed it Borderland 4 You won’t make the same mistake. Instead, the sequel aims to nail the balance between comedy and patos without splashing out the jokes of the sluts where. There is a bathroom for the game, but you will never see the Skibidi toilet.

Borderlands 3 is an explosion and is a Looter-Shooter FPS game, a must-have that mostly maintained the quality of previous entries. But it leaned a bit deeper into toilet humor. The Borderlands 4, which Gearbox Sofware confirmed, confirmed that it did not make the same mistake.

For example, there was a puzzle in which the shit was dissatisfied, cited couples whose password was “fart” and “Your Poop is Level 27 Resident Evil.” Currently, in an interview with IGN, the Borderlands team at Gearbox Software admits that some of their teams are not fully involved in Lavatory-related Jollity.

“I think we had some internal critique about the level of tone and humor that exists in Borderlands 3,” explains story director Sam Winkler.

“Borderlands 3.. I think it felt like a parody at times. I think that’s where we were framed by red lines. For a lot of fans and personally for me,” he adds.

Winkler explains that in Borderlands 4, the team has been looking to other media for examples of how to get things right, seeking a more grounded tone. He quotes Star Trek: The low deck says as a certain inspiration, “It has a quirky energy, but it works really well because it works and takes the characters seriously.”

The series doesn’t lack comedy, but knows when it’s serious and sometimes when it delivers emotional gut punches, so it definitely deserves Tone Borderlands 4.

Borderlands 4 will be released on September 12th, 2025. So it’s not long to wait to see if the gearbox software is nailing the tone of this sequel
