There has been no shortage of geopolitical tensions that have devastated the global market throughout 2025. In fact, the country is engaged in a major showdown between the West and the Global South, picking up the sides. It culminated this week with one BRICS Nation, which announces its five-year plan to compete with the US at the global stage.

The US and President Donald Trump are implementing foreign trade policies that sparked the flames of conflict. Although several tariff suspensions have been introduced, there is still a continuing effort to restructure the global order. Specifically, through the multipolarity that the BRICS block has been chasing for years.

BRICS NATION is set for a five-year course to challenge US domination

The United States spent the first four months of the year shaking global trade. Specifically, when the Trump administration returned to Japan, implemented protectionist policies that sought to balance trade with all countries. However, federal courts have officially blocked these sweeping tariffs and produced more convolutions.

But that doesn’t stop much of the damage from being done, so to speak. Certainly, the country’s continued tension with the Global South has led to some interesting actions. In fact, one BRICS Nation is implementing a five-year plan to challenge the United States at a global stage.

Recent reports show that China is trying to challenge Western domination. Specifically, Beijing is “planning a long-term battle with Washington for economic hegemony,” the report said. With reality in mind, they published a “Five Year Development Blueprint” to allow them to oppose the US in their trade war stories.

The country’s national economic development plan for 2026-2030 was officially announced by President Xi Jinping this month. Furthermore, it focuses clearly on scientific modernization and technological advancements. It also features a “comprehensive catalogue of quantifiable socioeconomic goals” that the country is trying to succeed in.

The BRICS BLOC was evident in its efforts to alleviate Western prominence. It comes mostly in the form of US dollars. However, efforts to mitigate leadership in other areas may address further drawing that goal into realisation.
