This game places you in the role of a fleeing soldier suffering from amnesia, which closely reflects the premise of the Fear series. For me, the story doesn’t make Trepang2 special. What I love is the nature of action games and the horror games that together create a fascinating experience. You battle supernatural powers, monster creations, and members of the cult. Many feed enemies can explode, explode into gusts of Gore, or use as shields for protection.
Trepang2 easily nails the balance between the action and terrifying levels of a chaotic, fast-paced shooter game. Between your waking destruction confetti and the urgent mystery at hand, it has been one of my favorite PC games in recent years.
