The Cannes Film Festival has announced the lineup for the 78th edition (May 13th-24th).

Festival Director Thierry Fremaux, along with Festival President Iris Noblok, revealed his official choice at a press conference at the UGC Montparnasse cinema in Paris.
A variety of different features constitute the competition for 2025, mixing veteran Ortel with up-and-coming directors.
The acclaimed directors, Dardenne Brothers, Wes Anderson, Richard Linklater and Joachim Trier, are among those selected for the Cannes Competition 2025.
Newcomers to the contest include genre specialist Ariastar, Berlin Golden Bear winner Carla Simon and German Masca Silinsky.
This year, six female filmmakers competed with six members of the total of 19 announced today: Julia Duklnow, Kelly Reihardt, Hafsia Helzi, Carla Simon, Chai Hayakawa and Masca Sylinsky.
Cannes artistic director Thierry Fulmaux said the festival has received 2,909 record-breaking features submissions this year.
