Civics Education Gaining Ground in K-12 and Higher Education

Nationally, there is growing interest in teaching public school students the history and the role of citizenship in the US government.

An October 6 survey report from the North Carolina-based James G. Martin Center states that all states except Alaska, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin require completion of civic courses to graduate from high school.
