teeth Transparent, ambiguous expedition 33 The most unexpected surprise of the year so far? The Blue Prince is certainly a competitor, but it’s not a big hit with dizzying sales and player count heights. Conversely, something like Schedule 1 exploded out of nowhere, but never scooped up the year-end awards. I think Expedition 33 will take it when it comes to a complete surprise package. The game is so popular that Steam reportedly sells faster than the most notable JRPGs of the past 12 months, including the metaphor Repantazio and Final Fantasy 7 plays, despite being a fresh IP and small studio debut game.

I’m still amazed at how well the Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is. French studio Sandfall Interactive scored a home run with a big swing in turn-based, narrative-driven RPG action that Japanese studios have been glued to for years. It clearly works very well. And that’s why it’s one of the best game pass games.

Currently, market analytics companies are revealing some data that will contextualize the success of Expedition 33 on Steam at least. Some of these titles clearly have a large console fanbase, but some of them are ports that have arrived steam for a while after its release, but things like Metaphor Refantasio, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 3 Reload, Final Fantasy 7 play, Dragon 8 are all warped in the weekly sales division.

Alinea Analytics ‘Rhys Elliott says the Clair Obscur Expedition 33 sells at least twice as fast as these entries in the long-term, popular JRPG series. He reports that he has achieved 785,000 steam copies sold in the first seven days.

Arinea reportedly has earned about a third of the game’s player base, “a major factor in the success of the Expedition 33.”

It’s pretty wild to outweigh some of these major RPG franchises, but considering it’s included in the PC Game Pass from day one, it’s hard to emphasize enough how impressive it is. Millions of GamePas subscribers can access Expedition 33 at no additional charge, but they still pop out of Valve’s virtual shelves.
