On Tuesday, July 22nd, Commander Washington’s 2025 training camp officially began. The team hopes to have another successful season after finishing 12-5 in 2024.
Washington traveled to the NFC Championship Game but lost to the Eagles. Still, it was an incredible season for the commander. Ahead of the 2025 season, the team still has issues that need to be resolved. Veteran WR Terry McClaulin is seeking a contract extension and reports that the team is putting him on the low ball. Due to pending contract, McClaurin has not reported to training camp. The commander then placed him in the sanctuary/didn’t report the list.
When will the commander reach a contract extension with Terry McClaulin?

During his career with the Commander, Terry McClaulin was a very reliable wide receiver. The 2024 season marked the fifth consecutive year of receiving yards, earning over 1,000. Moreover, his 82 receptions were second most important in his career. Along with rookie QB Jayden Daniels, Terry McClaurin received a career-high 13 touchdowns. With the production that McLaurin has shown to the commander, he is seeking a new contract extension.
He is taking part in the final season of his three-year contract with Washington. The two-time Pro Bowler is set to make $15.5 million in 2025. This is far less than what macclaurin is worth. Amid recent media availability, McClaulin said he felt that he was underestimated by the commander. All he wants is to be paid fairly in the WR market. He believes the number is more than $300,000 per season.

That would be a massive salary increase for McLaurin. In that media availability, WR also said he wants to “have abundance and clarity” that he wants to stay in Washington. He was a three-round pick by the commander in 2019, spending all six seasons with Washington. Terry McClaulin is a fan favorite and continues to produce despite QB turnovers early in his career.
All signs point to McClaurin staying in Washington this offseason. It’s only a matter of time before the commander and his agents make a deal. For now, the veteran WR has started training camps in the reserve/list did not report the list. McClaurin wants to wait for that and pressure the commander to sign him. You will need to wait for how long this holdout lasts.
