In the second week of the 2025 NFL season, the Cowboys defeated the Giants 40-37 in overtime. Dallas can thank kicker Brandon Aubrey for his late game heroic who beat New York.

The Cowboys are currently 1-1 in their third week matchup at The Road vs. The Bears. Just this week, Dallas signed a one-year contract with veteran Pass Rusher Jadeveon Clowney. He spent the 2024 season with the Panthers, starting 14 games and finishing with 5.5 sacks. Expect to see Jadeveon Clowney on the Dallas field this weekend when the Cowboys are on the roads of Chicago.

Jadeveon Clowney makes Cowboys debut in Week 3 and The Bears

In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans chose Jadeveon Clowney from South Carolina using their first overall pick. He spent the first five seasons of his career in Houston. In 62 games against the Texans, Clowney recorded 29.0 bags. He had 9.5 bags for the 2017 season and was selected for the Pro Bowl. During his 11-year career, Jadeveon Clowney played in six different franchises. Dallas will be his seventh.

Plus, it will be Clowney’s fourth team in many seasons. In 2023, Jadeveon Clowney was a member of the Baltimore Ravens. 17 games were played and 15 started, and he tied his career-high with 9.5 sacks. I’ll do that at age 30. The veteran pass rush was not with the team during training camp or preseason. But Clowney was ready for the opportunity.

Crowney quickly signed with Dallas when the Cowboys knocked. Dallas has recorded four sacks this season through two games. This includes three: 36-year-old Russell Wilson and Sunday. The Cowboys only had one bag in week one, but mobile QBs like Jalen Hurts. Dallas felt it needed to help them rush the pass and added a proven player at Jadeveon Clowney.

Entering his 12th year, Jadeveon Clowney said it’s competition that keeps him motivated. Regarding his career in the NFL, Clowney has made $97 million. That’s not the money headed for 2025. His competitiveness continues to keep him in his early 30s. Prior to the 2025 season, the Cowboys traded All-Pro Pass Rusher Mika Parsons for the Packers. Owner Jerry Jones has since received a lot of criticism from his fan base. Does signing Jadeveon Clowney do anything long-term for Dallas?
