Filipino LGBTQ drama ‘Some Nights I Feel Like Walking’ set for 18-rated release

Exclusive: Peter Senval Gas I feel like I’m walking some nights It is set for a local release in the Philippines and has been sold to major territories.

The adult drama has received an R18 rating for sexual content and LGBTQ+ themes and will open locally on August 27th through film co-producer Black Cap Pictures. It follows a band of young men’s street hustlers who have bravely hanging out in the dark corners of Manila nights and fulfilling the final hopes of their friends.

“It’s a rare arthouse release, especially in the scenery where attendees at the cinema are super down. Sunshine It worked very well. Distributors hope we do well too,” says Alenmerg Ang of Daluyong Studios, who produces the film along with Jade Francis Castro of Origin8 Media.

The film will be exhibited in around 50 cinemas in major cities such as Manila, Cebu and Davao in the Philippines. However, the R18 rating prevents them from playing in some of the high-pitched family-friendly malls, adds Ang.

SunshineThe premiere in Toronto and Berlin is understood to be self-distributed with the help of the marketing agency’s Lunchbox and performed exclusively on SM Cinemas.

The film is a co-produced between the Philippines, Singapore and Italy, with co-producers of Anthony Chen, Tan Singh and Stefano Centini. He attended Cannes Atelier in 2020, and was world premiered at the Tallinn Black Night Film Festival last year, winning the Best Score Award before traveling to more than 30 international film festivals.
