Europa International, an association and network of European sales agents, has selected Valeska Neu, international sales manager for film boutiques, as its new president.
Noy will take over former co-president Alice Resort, the new European film salesman Les Films du Losange and Catalgina Seniorska.
She will work with Intramovis board members Geremia Biagiotti, Samuel Blanc (The Party Movie Sales), Monica Ciari (Minerva Pictures), Alice Rezoto, Catalgina Seniorska and Leo Test (Global Constellations).
Founded in 2011, Europa International has 58 members from over 12 European countries.
Europa International members will handle almost 70% of the films selected at Cannes this year.
Neu said: “We are deeply honored to assume the role of European International’s President at a very important moment for the European film industry. We look ahead and we are committed to addressing future challenges in order to advocate for policies that support the international distribution of European film and talent, together with other European associations and institutes, to strengthen the voice of the collective.”
Reflecting this year’s Cannes, she said, “Marquiet Du Film has been attracting strong interest in the theatre title this year, with strong involvement from major buyers and solid business, and it is clear that the market is not only holding its hold, but the market is responding realistically.
