Four Plead Guilty in $550 Million USAID Fraud Scheme: DOJ

Four individuals have pleaded guilty to participating in a bribery scheme involving the United States Organization for International Development (USAID), resulting in the fraudulent company (DOJ) admitted in a June 12 statement that contracts of more than $550 million will be improperly awarded.

USAID Contracts Officer Roderick Watson, 57, of Maryland, pleaded guilty to bribery of a civil servant. Walter Barnes, 46, of Maryland, owner of Vistant, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery in civil servant and securities fraud.
