Giants’ starting LT Andrew Thomas has been activated off of the PUP list

For most teams in the league, the 2025 NFL season is just over two weeks away. That applies to the New York Giants, which will open their season on Sunday, September 7th.

During the 2024 season, Andrew Tomouth, the Giants’ starting LT, suffered a Lisfranc injury on his right foot. Thomas had to undergo surgery and missed 11 New York games. The previous top five picks are the ones who make the difference for the Giants when they’re healthy. On Tuesday, August 19th, it was announced that Andrew Tomouth had passed through his body. He is activated from the puppy list.

Andrew Thomas begins training again for the Giants

The Giants chose Andrew Tomouth from Georgia for the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Over five seasons, the 26-year-old played 61 games and started 60 times. During the 2022 season, Thomas started 16 of his 17 games in New York and was named the Second Team All-Pro. Since then, he has missed at least six games for New York in consecutive seasons.

Thomas played 10 of the Giants’ 17 games in 2023 and six of the 17 games in 2024. In Week 6 and the Bengals’ sixth game, Andrew Tomouth suffered a Lisfranc injury with his right foot. The starting LT required surgery and was placed in the IR immediately. Returning Thomas to the starting unit will be massive in advance for New York. Thomas is one of the top players in his positivity when he’s healthy.

Unfortunately, he has been injured and has limited playing time over the past two seasons. New York has slowly returned Thomas this summer. Massive news for the attack.

Along with Thomas, two other notable offensive players will return to practice on Tuesday. Pro Bowl WR Malik Neighbors missed time due to a back injury. Wrought the stars back into the practice field is beneficial for the Giants. Additionally, Rookie RB Cam Skattebo has returned from a hamstring injury. He missed out on a few weeks of practice in New York. The Giants will open their 2025 season with Week 1 and Commander’s Road.
