President Donald Trump’s $9 billion retirement package, advanced by Senate Republicans in a narrow vote on July 15, seeks to support funds that Congress has already approved foreign aid, humanitarian programs and public broadcasting.
Officially entitled “The Rescue Act 2025,” the bill reflects the Trump administration’s efforts to translate proposed government efficiency cuts into law, aiming to reassign billions of dollars to domestic priorities. Final votes are expected by the end of the week.
