Harris Dickinson’s Cannes standout ‘Urchin’ continues international sales march

Exclusive: Harris Dickinson’s directorial debut Sea sea urchin It was sold for charades all over the world following the well-received world premiere of the film at a certain respect of the United Nations of Cannes.

Following the previously announced Picturehouse in Ireland and 1-2 special in North America, the film will be sold in Italy, including Ad Vitam in France, Spanish Karma Film, Portugal Searcher, Chinobo in Greece, Rio Photography in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Incf in Incf, Rio Photography in MCF, Kinopavasalis in Balticus, Cinephile in Hungary, Israeli Lev Film, Turkish Bar Film, Falcon in Indonesia, Rio Rialto in Australia and New Zealand, Pictureworks in India, Starcat in Japan, Airline Ardwolf.

Sea sea urchin Frank Dylan, as London’s rough sleeper, is trapped in a spiral downward cycle of substance abuse as he tries to turn his life around. The film scoops both Dylan’s UN Specific Respect Best Actor Award and Fiplesci Award at Cannes.

The producer is Archie Pearch from Devisio Pictures and Scott O’Donnell from Somesuch. The film was developed by BBC films and funded by BBC films, BFI and tricky Knot. Executive producers include Eva Yates, Ama Ampadu, Alexandra Tynion and Olivia Tyson.

Additionally, the cast includes Megan Northam, Karina Kimchuk, Shona Marie, Amur Weeked and Dickinson.

Picturehouse will release films in the UK and Ireland on October 3rd. The 1-2 special is scheduled to be released in the fall.
