The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they are expanding their film and TV deals with Netflix. The initial contract with the film company was worth around 100 million euros (£75 million).
“We are proud to expand our partnership with Netflix and expand our work to include brands that have never been seen before,” said Meghan Markle, a former actress known for her role in suits. “My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and the Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonate globally and celebrate shared vision.”
The new deal, dubbed “the first look deal in a multi-year period,” will give Netflix the first option on a proposal from Prince Harry and Meghan’s Archewell production company.
A gentle contract
but, According to For the BBC, the New Deal is a more looser arrangement than its previous one, but it claims Sussex and Netflix will become fully company.
Meghan said she and Harry were inspired by their partnership with Netflix and “create thoughtful content across genres that resonate globally and celebrate our shared vision.”
The Duchess of Sussex also revealed that the second season of her show, Meghan with love, will premiere later this month.
Not very popular
According to Netflix audience statistics, the first series wasn’t even one of the most popular shows in the streaming service’s top 300 in the first half of 2025.
Meghan, a lifestyle series that showed Meghan cuisine with her celebrity friends with her love, showed 5.3 million views. In comparison, the most viewed program on Netflix in the meantime was Drama Puberty, with 145 million viewers.
Previous Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan said the couple had left their lives as “Working Royals,” with 23.4 million viewers since its December 2022 release.
Archewell has also announced a special Christmas season edition of Meghan, inviting viewers to “join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration.”
Their story resonates with the audience
With love, Meghan is accompanied by a range of food and drinks that are still called, including rosé wine and jam.
And there will be a show on Netflix later this year. Harry and Meghan are producers called Masaka Kids and producers about the Ugandan orphanage being a beacon of hope in situations where “the shadow of HIV/AIDS CRISIS will be long.”
Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, said:
“Their response to their work speaks for itself. Harry and Meghan gave viewers an intimate view of their lives and quickly became one of our most viewed documentary series.”
