Caprio died of pancreatic cancer. His family checked the news via Caprio’s Instagram account, noting that he “dead in peace” following a “long and courageous battle” with illness.
Frank Caprio’s Cancer Battle: His Healthy Journey
Caprio was open about his pancreatic cancer journey before he passed away. Tiano, Italy, announced the diagnosis in December 2023. After about a year and a half of radiation therapy, Caprio rang the bell in May 2024 to indicate that he had finished his treatment.
In June 2025, Caprio shared a video of Tiktok in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day. He said, “I want to take the time to honor each and every one who has won this battle. I am now in the middle of that battle. A year and a half in my own battle with pancreatic cancer, and I hope that God will please me and one day I will call myself a survivor.”
However, just days before he passed away in August 2025, Caprio was hospitalized. He shared photos from his bed at Rhode Island Hospital on August 19th, asking his followers to pray. He passed away the next day.
