There may not be an exact start date yet, but now there is a confirmation Hollow Night Silk Song It will be available for play in September 2025. There’s only one pretty big catch. You may have to go to Australia to try it. The much-anticipated Team Cherry Action Platformer is set to make its debut in the developer’s home country later this year, and it could ultimately be seen as a full 2025 release more realistic than ever before.

Hollow Knight Silksong’s release date feels closer with each passing thing. The much-anticipated Metroidvania is a hot topic every time you watch a press conference for a new video game, and the recent announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 released a loose definition of “2025” as part of the Sizzle Reel. However, ACMI (Australian National Museum of Screen Culture in Melbourne) has now confirmed that Hollow Knight Silksong can be played at an exhibition called Game Worlds.

“We are excited to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centerpiece for Game World in September, which has been one of the most anticipated games on the planet since the first announcement of Hollow Knight Silkson in 2019.”

“From hundreds of sprites animating the various movements and attacks of the Hornet to the logic behind the game’s most challenging boss fights, and of course, to the game being played in the gallery, our silk songs dig deep into the details of the game’s artistic orientation and design,” the pair continues. “We are very grateful to Team Cherry for trusting us in their work and we are excited to share that work with you.”

It remains to be seen whether that means that the game will already occur by then, or whether this may be an appetizing preview that will be visible to desperate fans awaiting flight tickets to Australia. As someone who loves this country as much as I do the original Hollow Knight, it certainly sounds like a great excuse for a visit.
