Forget the new Call of Duty game, forget the marathon, forget the battlefield 6. Split Gate 2 This is the multiplayer FPS game I’ve been exaggerating the most. The first game blend of Hello and Portal was amazing, but despite great gameplay there was no infrastructure or content stream moving across distances. Splitgate 2 is about to change that, and today we are looking at the beginning of an open beta that includes almost everything you can get in full game later this year. Additionally, Splitgate 2 Open Beta has no end date and all progress will be carried over once 1.0 arrives.

I tried Splitgate 2 in the final PlayTest, so I already know that it’s streaming again in the Gameplay department. It’s realized with Unreal Engine 5, so while Halo-Enceme’s gun remains, the movement and visuals are far better than the original game. Portaling is not only a core mechanic in FPS games, but in that case it has a very high-skill ceiling, but class-based abilities add yet another strategic layer.

Live service spaces are fully aware that nuts are hard to crack. Developer 1047 Games arms Split Gate 2 with a ton of game modes and maps, with most of the launch lineup being exhibited in open beta. There are many options, from classics from traditional arena shooters to massive 24-player onslaught modes. The same applies to the maps you play. The open beta version adds several new battlefields to all available game modes. You can also equip it with a new power weapon, Borealis.

A small open beta battle pass is available until the Split Gate 2 release date. I think it’s a really nice touch and the fun incentive that is as much as possible, so you can hunt 1047 game developers taking part in the beta. They will stand out from the crowd as they wear the “fiery disco ball” skin of development. Kill one of them during a match and you will gain your own skin to commemorate the moment.

However, the outstanding addition to the open beta version is the lab. This is an extensive Hello Forge style map editor that allows you to create custom arenas and experiences. Not only will you struggle with your dream split gate map solo, but you can also have up to 16 players working together on the same project at once.

Splitgate 2 Open Beta is currently live and will continue until the game is released in full in the summer and progress takes over. Play on your PC on Steam, Microsoft Store, or Epic Games Store, Steam decks, or Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
