The delays for Grand Theft Auto 6 are definitely disappointing, at least in the short term. But now the wait times are longer, so you can try out more of countless great games inspired by the classic crime franchise. It’s one such game American fugitivesa top-down thrill ride set in the American South of the 1980s.

After his escape from prison, the main character, Will Riley, has to keep his head low as he tries to find his father’s real murderer. But of course, the outside world is full of seduction and careful eyes. Like the GTA, if you commit a crime and get caught, the police will come after you. The more confusion you bring, the more police will chase after you. Furthermore, American fugitives are characterized by destructible environments. Running over a fence or hedge will realistically fall apart. The car has some realism with some physics, backing, crashing, and some realism when driving it to obstacles (or police cars). The free emergency update adds Army vehicles and weapons.

During the main story mission, you can take on many criminal activities, including fencing fine art, breaking into houses, and stealing shops at muzzle. The challenges of stunt jumps and time trials are also scattered throughout an open world. Like the best crime game, American fugitives have high chaos markers.

American Fugitive is on sale for $3.99 until May 12th. You can purchase it on Steam.
