In the near future, large new RPG games like Elden Ring Nightreign, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Lost Soul Adaf will be coming out, set to demand enough free time for players. But each of these is still a bit of a way. Mandragora: Whisper of the Witch TreeAnother vast action RPG released on Steam yesterday has given fairly positive user reviews.
Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree, a world of Grimm fantasy, is a soul-like game that promises to play for over 40 hours, following its steam description. It takes place in apocalyptic lands where players hunt monsters and ramp out as one of six classes of Inquisitors.
Mandragora features a 2D perspective, but is deeply inspired by dark narrative and action-designed 3D games such as Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Inquisitors can be customized to fight magic and melee weapons, and the wide range of creatures they contested are forced to master a merciless battle system. The layout of that world is similar to From’s catalogue, with connected environments that hide important items, characters and secrets. Unlike the game, however, Mandragora offers options for difficulty.
The receptions for the games so far have been pretty warm. On Steam, Mandragora currently has a “nearly positive” user rating based on Active since its launch yesterday.
