Double Head Title announced for UFC 317 at International Fight Week

Ilia Topuria vs Charles Oliveira officially confirmed the UFC 319 headline UFC 319 on June 28th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Topuria vs Oliveira is set to headline UFC 317 during the free UFC lightweight title International Combat Week. This comes after Islamic Makhachev confirmed he will move to welterweight to become the two-division UFC King in the fight against new 170-pound champion Jacques Della Madarena.

Alongside Topuria vs Oliveira, the second title fight was announced as Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France became the official co-main event for UFC 317 during International Combat Week.

Ilia Topuria knocked out Max Holloway at the UFC 308 last October, then left to move the UFC featherweight title to lighter. Now he has the chance to become the 2-weight UFC King in his 90th battle in the organization.

Meanwhile, Charles Oliveira is the former 155-pound king and appears to be a two-time lightweight champion. The Brazilian last acted at UFC 309, where he defeated Michael Chandler.

Do you have belts on the UFC 317 line?

Ilia Topuria vs Charles Oliveira and Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France have both been announced as two major matches at UFC 317. This means that there are two official UFC titles on the line.

In the main event, the “Elmatador” and “Do Bronx” Rockhorns feature vacant UFC lightweight titles following Islamic Makhachev’s decision to abandon the belt in favour of a move to Welter Weight.

The UFC 317 main event marks Topuria’s third consecutive UFC title fight, but it’s his first fight at 155 pounds. For Oliveira, this was his fourth UFC lightweight title contest, previously dominated the 155-pound division for a short period of time.

The second belt on the UFC 317 line will become the co-main event as 125 pound king “Cannibal” aims to defend the UFC flyweight title against Kai Kara-France.

This fight marked Kara-France’s first shot in UFC Gold in his career, with Pantoja aiming to successfully defend his fourth 125 pound crown.
