Illinois Judge Denies Texas AG’s Request to Help Arrest Absent State Democrats

On August 13, an Illinois judge denied a request for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to execute a private arrest warrant for Texas House Democrats, seeking to block efforts to rezone the Central Cycle that could grant Republicans five additional seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Illinois 8th Circuit Judge Scott Larson ruled that his court had no jurisdiction to do what Paxton had wanted.
