Weezer will not only be his future participation in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The bassist of the band Scott Shrinerhe found his wife at the heart of the news before the weekend. Gillian Schleineraka Gillian Lauren, was shot and attacked by the Los Angeles Police Department on an attempted murder charge. So is Weezer still playing for Coachella? There is an update below.

Who is Jillian “Lauren” Schliner?

Why was Gillian Schreiner shot by the police?

LAPD said its officers were pursuing a hit and run suspect, but none of them were Gillians. However, on Tuesday, April 8th, officers were directed towards the backyard of Eagle Rock’s home, according to NBC News.

According to multiple outlets, Gillian was reportedly trying to leave the house with a handgun. Police allegedly ordered her to drop the weapon several times, but she refused and allegedly pointed it at the officers.

At a press conference later that evening, Detective Meghan Aguilar said it was not clear from police body cam footage that it happened at the moment before police shot and killed Jillian.

“At that point, we were given some commands, we had multiple commands to drop the gun and drop the weapon. Unfortunately, it ended up being a shooting with an officer involved,” Aguilar pointed out.

Is Weezer still playing at Coachella?

Yes, Scott himself confirmed that Weezer is still performing at Coachella this weekend. According to New York PostScott was walking his dog the day after his wife was attacked on an attempted murder charge when asked about the incident.

“She’s fine, thank you for asking,” Scott said, according to the outlet, “See you at Coachella!
