Italy unveils major security plans for Pope Francis’ funeral

Italian authorities will oversee the complex security operations as they are expected to travel to the Vatican for Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday.

Police are currently patroling the nearby Taver River stretch through streets around the Vatican, underground stations and Delaconsiriagione, the main street leading to St. Peter Square.

Italian media reports have used security mechanisms such as anti-drone weapons, no-fly zones patroled by fighter jets, and sophisticated jamming techniques, including sophisticated jamming techniques.

Pope Francis’ body moved to St. Peter’s Basilica Wednesday morning. It reminded me of the humble style of public mourning for the Argentinean pope, concerns about poor prayers for peace.

Public viewing is primarily intended for ordinary Catholics to grieve the clergy.

The Cathedral of St. Peter will remain open until midnight on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as the faithful lament. The public lament period ends on Friday at 7pm local time.

US President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s Voldymee Zelensky are among the various world leaders attending funerals.

The Cardinals met at the Vatican on Tuesday, scheduled a funeral and burial for Francis, planned a conclave to select a successor, and made other decisions regarding the operation of the Catholic Church.
