JPMorgan, Bank of America Subpoenaed Over IPO of China’s CATL

The House Selection Committee on the Communist Party of China has issued subpoenas to JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America, requiring that banks be provided with documents relating to the role of the initial public offering (IPO) for Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL).

In a July 24 statement, Committee Chairperson John Mourenard (R-Mich.) said the CATL is “a key player in China’s military integration strategy” and poses risks to US investors and US national security.
