A federal judge temporarily blocked the deployment of a 200-person National Guard force in Portland on October 4th as violent protesters continue to target federal immigration officials. The judge ruled that the case was outside the president’s executive body.

“There is a longstanding fundamental tradition in this country, particularly in the form of military invasions on civilians,” US District Judge Karin J. Imargat wrote at her order.
