Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock Once one of Hollywood’s most famous couples, their marriage ended in 2020 together for nearly seven years. The Grammy Award winner filed for divorce in Los Angeles on June 4th of that year, citing the irreconcilable difference. The former couple shared two children – daughter River roses And son Remington Alexander– and maintained a joint friendship over the next few years.

2012
Let’s rewind to 2012 when Kelly announced her social media engagement. Brandon popped the question that December, and Kelly celebrated her then-future husband on Twitter with sweet respect. “I’m engaged! I wanted you to know everything!” she tweeted at the time. “The happiest night of my life last night! I’m so lucky and with the greatest man of all time.”

2013
In 2013, the couple was more love than ever. Kelly’s then-fiance accompanied her. Barack ObamaFirst ball of January before tying the knot 10 months later. Kelly and Brandon said “I” in October, and she took her to Twitter to announce the good news. “I’m officially Mrs. Blackstock,” she tweeted at the time. She revealed that they were married at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee and are calling the venue “the most beautiful place ever!”
Following their stunning wedding, Kelly and Brandon waste no time on the baby. Just a month after the wedding, Kelly announced in November 2013 that she was expecting her first child.
2014
The “I Dare You” singer gave birth to a couple’s daughter in June 2014. She tweeted at the time. “Thank you for your wishes! Brandon and I are at Cloud 9!”

2015
Kelly went to Twitter in August 2015 to reveal that she was pregnant with her and Brandon’s second child.
2016
This time they welcomed the boys. “Our little boy has arrived!! Remington Alexander Blackstock was born on 12/16/4. She tweeted in April 2016.
A few months after welcoming her son, Kelly admitted to having a child. The talk show host revealed that she had Brandon get a vasectomy. “I was literally pregnant with Remy, and I recalled, ‘You’ve been fixed. This will never happen again,’ she recalled. Jenny McCarthy Show October 2016. “If anything happens, it’s a godly miracle. I literally told OB/Gyn at the table while it was open, “If I’m pregnant again, I’ll find you!” ”

Kelly went on to explain that she had a “terrifying” pregnancy in the river and Remington, due to how sick she was. “It seemed like I was hospitalized for both pregnancies,” she admitted. “And I thought I wanted another little companion (for the river). I felt that way, so I didn’t want my child to be just a strange guy. I wanted her to have her age like we did when we travel. “It won’t happen again, but Remi’s pregnancy was bad.”
2017
In November 2017, both Kelly and Brandon sipped champagne James Corden At his “Carpool Karaoke” show.
2019
Fast forward to April 2019, the pair brought the kids to the red carpet premiere Ugly dollthey looked like one big happy family. Also, in 2019, Kelly and Brandon showed no signs of trouble in paradise when they displayed their PDA on the Grammys red carpet.
Over the years, Kelly and Brandon have attended red carpets, events and awards ceremonies. The pair looked happier than ever during their public appearances, but what they say is true – you never know what’s going on behind closed doors. And Kelly and Brandon were somewhat private couples. Kelly and Brandon’s divorce quickly became a headline legal battle, including property, custody and financial disputes.
2022
The split was finalised in 2022, and Kelly was awarded primary custody of the child. By this time, Kelly had completely settled in life as a single mother, continuing her career as a talk show host and recording artist. Brandon was largely out of the public’s eyes.
2025
In August 2025, Kelly postponed several Las Vegas residency shows, revealing that Brandon was personally fighting a serious illness. Shortly after her announcement, news that he had passed away at the age of 48 after a private battle with cancer was broken.
