Over 2.1 million fans in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, have crowded Copacabana Beach and now they watched Lady Gaga songs and danced at the free concert, the world’s most participating women’s concert. She broke the record for 1.6 million Madonnas in Copacabana last year.

According to Guinness World Records, there was a concert held in Copacabana in 1994 by Rod Stewart in 1994, and so far by Rod Stewart.

Local Rio de Janeiro officials said at least half a million tourists travelled to attend Lady Gaga’s concert. They said the concert’s security would include 3,300 troops, 1,500 police officers and 400 military firefighters.

Lady Gaga’s concert produced nearly 100 million euros

The government in Rio de Janeiro paid for a concert of pop stars to stimulate the economy. A local city hall official said the concert had $106 million (approximately 94 million euros) in revenue.

The artist is known to charge between $2 million and $5 million per show, but he is charging details about Copacabana Gig’s salary.

Some fans known as Gaga’s “Little Monsters” had started a queue early in the morning and waited in long queues to access the beach, the BBC reported.

“You were waiting for me, you were waiting for me over a decade,” an emotional Lady Gaga told the crowd, spreading the Brazilian flag. “Brazil, I’m ready. I’m going to give it all.”

“We are monsters and monsters never die.”

Hundreds of thousands of people sang alongside her most famous hits, including Alejandro, Pokerface and Abracadabra, shaking many rainbow themed fans and watching the giant screens along the beach, creating an electric atmosphere.

When the concert was over, Lady Gaga told the audience, referring to the nicknames of Lady Gaga fans, “We’re monsters and monsters never die,” and she ended the concert with perhaps her most famous song, Bad Romance.
