Reports say Lionsgate film group president Nathan Kahane is expected to leave his post when his contract expires until the end of this year.
His exit agreement is still finalized, but Kahane is believed to be in discussions to undertake a production agreement with Lionsgate.
When Kahane departs, Erin Westerman, the current production president of Motion Picture Group, is expected to take over the company’s production slate responsibility under group chair Adam Fogelson.
Kahane joined Lionsgate in 2018 and was reunited with group president Joe Drake. Drake and Kahane founded the Good Universe and was acquired by Lionsgate in 2017. They partnered with Mandate Pictures, which was previously acquired by Lionsgate.
Two years ago, Lionsgate merged its production and acquisition groups under Kahane.
Kahane has been the producer or executive producer of over 30 films. Juno, Harold and Kumar series, This is the end, neighbor, grim, Evil Death, Spike Lee’s Old Man and A good boy.
