Lucinda Hicks, former CEO of Banijay UK, joined Sister Group as CEO following the departure of Los Angeles-based Cindy Holland last year.

London-based Hicks, formerly Chief Operating Officer of Endemol Shine UK, reports to co-founder and executive chairman Elizabeth Murdoch.

Chris Fry, now Chief Financial Officer and Interim CEO of Sister Group, has been promoted to the newly created role of Sister Group COO, in addition to CFO.

The appointment follows the decision to move the group’s operations from the US and sell them globally from the UK.

The sister group includes all of the sisters’ television, film and digital publishing businesses, and has recently increased minority stakes to fully acquire photographs of the UK production company Dorothy Street.

Hicks and Fry works closely with Sister London, the creative production arm of the business. Black pigeonJane Featherstone and the existing team continue to lead.

“Lucinda takes the reins at truly exciting points of her sister’s evolution, with global faces leading from the UK for television and film business, matured and showing almost endless possibilities,” Murdoch said.

“She runs India and Group and demonstrates her proven track record in fostering creative talent, fostering startups, promoting key M&A activities, and fostering creative talent, a skill set and experience that is perfectly suited to guide us in the next chapter.”
