Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said trade talks with other countries continue despite the legal battle.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick defended President Donald Trump’s tariffs amid legal challenges on Sunday, saying the government’s plans to impose these tariffs will not be derailed by a court ruling.

The US International Trade Court ruled Trump’s tariffs on May 28th, and the judge ruled that the president outweighed his authority by issuing cleaning fees to his trading partners. The federal court of appeals later continued its decision, allowing tariffs to take effect while “considering the paper of the move.”
