Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s Hot milkIRA SACHS’ Peter Hujar’s Day and James Griffith Ballads of Wallis Island It is one of 28 features programmed in the third edition of Malta’s Mediteren Film Festival (June 21-29).

The festival will be awarded the prestigious Golden Bee Lifetime Achievement Award to British producer Jeremy Thomas.
Thomas will be taking part in a masterclass conversation with Adrian Wooton, CEO of the film London.
Other participants in the MasterClass program are directors Joe Carnahan and Catherine Hardwicke. Jurassic Park, Stars War and Avatar Production designer Rick Carter. Head of Amazon Original Movies Physical Production Glenn Gainor. and crown and Napoleon Composer Martin Phipps.
The festival will be held in Valletta, Malta’s capital, with master classes and event programs being held at the Fort Licassol venue, 400 years ago. Awards ceremony on Manoel Island.
With the theme of “We Are Film,” Mediterrane will also celebrate 100 years of filmmaking in Malta this year. The Son of the Sea.

The festival is led this year by festival director Reikaleja and festival curator Mark Adams’ new creative team.
“We are committed to shaping a programme that not only celebrates the past of Maltese cinema, but also defends bold new voices from across the Mediterranean,” Kaleha said.
The 2025 edition of the competition judges include Carter, Hardwicke, costume designer Charlees Antoinette, set decorator Eligriff, production designer James Price, and Malta director Mario Philippe Atz Paldi.
Juries for Marenostrum include Grainne Humphries, the artistic director of the Dublin Film Festival, and Ania Torzeviatauska, a senior programmer at the Sundance Film Festival.
