Is this finally the year when new extraction shooters actually paste landings and challenge the lasting power of genres like escape from Tarkov and hunt showdowns? I know that Bungee’s smooth looking marathon will drop this year. I also believe that future FPS will be able to provide joint collaboration with Tarkov. Running for their money – Ark Raiders. They will probably lock the horns at similar times, but they are still fighting. With the Marathon’s Closed Alpha starting later this month, the Ark Raiders are also in the biggest playtest to date.
Released late last year, Delta Force already shows that new FPS games can create dents in the dual layers of extraction, but certainly it also offers single-player campaigns, PVE content and battlefield-style war modes. Other MIL SIM projects like Arena Breakout Infinite and Gray Zone Warfare also have cracks. As mentioned before, the release date for the marathon is now only a few months away. Interesting exoborne is preparing to make a splash. The sand under the radar has been built to even begin early access launches. As you can see, Arc Raiders faces some tough competition, but I still have great hopes for it.
Studios’ debut shooter Finals is a bit of a gem and proves that Swedish developers can create unique, moving multiplayer games. So far, the same magical signs have already been seen in what the Ark Raiders are showing. Despite taking place on abandoned disaster maps, there is an incredibly lively aesthetic, and the general premise that its robotic PVE enemies look dignified and diverse in design, and that living in an underground hamlet of survivors adds a bit of a fallout feel to the comprehensive story.
As we’ve already hosted some closed playtests on our PC, Embark is considering adding more than this. A new five-day closed playtest known as Tech Test 2 has been announced, and will be deployed not only on PCs but also on console players. It also contains much more content than the previous content.
“Tech Test 2 presents a preview of the broader arc enemies, more weapons, gear, gadgets, deeper player progression and crafting systems, and Arc Raiders’ upcoming battle pass,” says Embark.
Interestingly, it will also be a direct counterattack on the closed alpha marathon that starts next week. Both tests are invitations only and not open to all players, but it will be a busy and interesting week for fans of the extraction shooter.

The Arc Raiders New PlayTest runs from Wednesday, April 30th to Sunday, May 4th. Invited PC players can be played via the Epic Games Store or Steam, and PS5 and Xbox players are also included. You may also sign up here, or you will be automatically invited to this if you participated in a previous playtest.
