2025 already looks like a great year for video games. So far, there have been shadows of Monster Hunter Wild, Split Fiction, Kingdom Come: Rescue 2, and Assassin’s Creed. Then there was the Eldenling Night Twing for the rest of the year, and at one point it became the GTA 6. We’ve already had some great successes, but now one modest puzzle experience has thwarted them all. Blue Prince Suddenly, it’s the highest rated game of the year and you need to hear about it.
The Blue Prince will take you to Mount Holly. It may look like a normal mansion on the outside, but when you step on the threshold, nothing seems to be what you see. Every door you come gives you a choice: the room you decide to place behind it. Each comes with its own set of challenges and puzzles, but it’s entirely up to you to decide what shape this building will take. Anything is possible in the elusive room 46 hunt.
However, this is not where the puzzle game challenges stop. At the end of each day, Mount Holly interior reset is only a permanent upgrade of your real estate blueprint as evidence of your progress. This is where the Blue Prince makes an unexpected Roguelike turn. This is because you need to collect as much upgrades as possible, not only to arrange space to find room 46.
At the time of writing, Blue Prince is the most reviewed game of the year. From 24 critic reviews on PC, it sits at a staggering 92 out of 100, higher than split fiction, monster hnter Wilds, Kingdom Come: Derverance 2, and Avowed. It’s not yet known whether Blue Prince will be able to retain that title in Metallic, but it’s still very impressive.
