Montreal Canadiens No. 1 goalkeeper Sam Montenbe can miss Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Round 1 Stanley Cup playoffs with the Washington Capitals.
This comes after Montembeault was withdrawn by injury during the second period of the 6-3 Game 3 victory over the Capitals.
Sam Montembeault Diruming Update: Montreal Canadiens goalkeeper misses Game 4 vs Capitals
Sam Montenbe could be set to miss Game 4 of the Stanley Cup playoffs in the first round of the Montreal Canadiens Eastern Conference following his backlash in Game 3.
Montreal’s No. 1 goalkeeper was injured during a 6-3 victory over the Washington Capitals in Game 3.
The second period of 8.21 remains, and Montembeault has a conversation with Jim Ramsey, but then disappears after being injured.
The extent of his injury is unknown, but there may be a source of concern for manager Martin St. Louis. Martin St. Louis may not have his No. 1 goalkeeper in a Game 4 match against the Capitals later today.
Montembeault reportedly did not take part in the morning skate. This means that he is unlikely to feature in Game 4 against the capital.
Coach St. Louis has revealed he is unsure of Montenbe, but has yet to call the rash: “I don’t know. He’s valued today.” The Montreal head coach said.
Can Rookie Jakub Dobes be delivered at the goal in the absence of Montembeault?
The Canadians could rely on rookie goalkeeper Jacquesbudove as Sam Montenby is likely to miss Thai Game 4 in the Stanley Cup playoff round 1 Eastern Conference against the Washington Capitals.
After swapping Montembeault in Game 3, Dobes stopped seven of the eight and managed to get off to a start. If Montembeault doesn’t fit, the 23-year-old newcomer will call from the start.
During the regular NHL season, the doves were 7-4-3, with 2.74 GAA, .909 save percentage and one shutout (starting 15) in 16 games.
This included 34 shutouts in his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers in December, with his side winning 4-0. This comes a day after he was recalled to Montreal from Laval of the American Hockey League.
Canadian defensive man Kaiden Gar believes Doves will deliver if asked. Guhle, like the rest of the team, has total confidence in his rookie goalkeeper.
“He challenges the Stanley Cup champion and shuts out. Look at his first three or four games. They’re all part of the league’s top team and he played well.
“I have confidence in the world of doves. He has all the confidence in himself. This makes me think you need a young goalkeeper into the league,” Gale concluded.
Head coach Martin St. Louis also has full confidence in the youth if called out. “I think he’s ready no matter what, so we’ll try to help him.”
The Montreal Canadiens will face the Washington capital at Bell Center in Game 4 in the Eastern Conference First Round.
