Neon has invited David Laub’s former leadership photo director as the SVP of marketing and promotion.
Laub will work closely with the president of Neon, Global Cinema Ryan Werner, whose employment has been announced during Cannes.
On Metrograph, Laub has acquired and released films like Donaldson of India Good things, Sandhya Suri’s Cannes Selection Santocheand the Venice Prize winners April By Dea Kulumbegashvilli.
His departure raises questions about the situation at Metrograph. Metrograph had not responded to comments at the time of writing.
Prior to that, he worked for the A24 for over eight years in marketing, advertising, acquisitions and exhibitions.
Werner praised Laub’s “a tremendous passion for film,” saying, “It was important to me to find someone who was strategic, curious and experienced.”
