new battlefield 6 The update kicks off the winter event with the introduction of a limited-time wintry variant of the Empire State that can send you into hypothermia, but there’s plenty more to dig into in the full patch notes. Some of the key changes here include a number of map layout adjustments to address the imbalance between attacking and defending teams, a battle pass with new melee weapons, and improved hit registration designed to “make bullet impact more predictable and instantaneous damage feedback easier to read.”
The new Battlefield 6 patch notes 1.1.3.0 starts with the Winter Offensive update, but that’s just the beginning. Seasonal additions bring Domination, Conquest, and Gauntlet to the Ice Rock edition of Empire State, putting a terrifying twist on one of the year’s best FPS games. With temperatures below freezing on the streets of Brooklyn, you should try to stay close to a heat source to avoid the cold. This map is available in Portal and also comes with an 11-tier Battle Pass with event cosmetics, XP boosters, and a new melee weapon, the Ice Climbing Ax.
However, beyond that, it provides a more substantial list of fixes and improvements that should benefit us in the long run. Multiple Breakthrough and Rush maps have had slightly redesigned layouts based on player feedback, with the core goal being to “improve attacker flow, reduce defender oversaturation, and enhance clarity around objectives.” Battlefield Studios says it wants to address the existing win-loss imbalance between both teams “without compromising strong defensive play.”
For Rush, new M-COM locations appear on both the Manhattan Bridge and Revelation Peak. With Breakthrough, the main change is understanding vehicle volume and availability. Typically, the defender’s tank and IFV numbers are reduced or removed, and the attacker’s supplies are increased. Capture zones have also been “reshaped or clarified to give players a clearer understanding of where to contest or defend.”
Battlefield Studios has also made significant improvements to the overall responsiveness of combat. Improved hit registration should improve the experience “across situations that previously felt unreliable, such as quick aim adjustments, firing before the zoom is complete, and close combat with large numbers of players.” Weapon handling has also been improved to “feel more stable and predictable during firefights.”

Both visuals and audio have been adjusted to improve overall readability. You’ll notice stronger character highlights in close-range encounters, and altered prone animations that make enemy soldiers more visible in low-contrast, crowded areas. Footsteps and other movement cues will be heard more clearly and easier to identify. Gadgets such as portable mortars, supply pouches, smoke covers, and traversal tools have been improved to “work consistently.”
AI bots have been improved to respond to requests for ammo, healing, and pick-ups. They should be faster and smarter at performing resuscitations and repairing friendly vehicles, and should be less likely to get stuck when trying to evacuate. There are also more bug fixes and smaller tweaks, including a “rare issue where players could be over 1,000 meters in the air during Second Chance Respawn.” These can be found in the full patch notes courtesy of EA and Battlefield Studios. ah.
Battlefield 6 patch 1.1.3.0 and the Winter Offensive update will be released on Tuesday, November 9th. Be sure to warm up before heading out. Otherwise, the match may come to an abrupt and frosty end.
