Campbell vowed to “fight and die” to protect New England patriot quarterback Drake May after being selected on the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Campbell was rated as the most offensive tackle outlook in the draft class, with the Patriots moving quickly to increase protection in front of Star QB.

The 21-year-old will start straight with a left tackle and will deal with a big hole in the team’s offensive. This ranked 31st and 32nd in the NFL in passing and run block win rates.

Campbell spent three years at LSU, earning national honors and scoring as the second best pass blocker in the country due to his focus on professional football as a freshman.

In his sophomore, he was a first-team all-sec choice, and in his final season he won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as a top lineman for the SEC, and was a consensus first-team All-American.

QB was fired 34 times in his debut year, and Campbell has an excellent track record of avoiding it.

The Patriots have the most cap space in the league, and recently hired Mike Vrabel as head coach and signed two stars for free agency.

What did Mike Vrabel say about the Patriots’ choice of Will Campbell?

“This was a very easy choice for us.” Vrabel said. “Adding will to our football team is about basic pieces from his younger years at 21, matured beyond his years.

“He’s a leader. He’s durable. He’s physical, reliable, accountable. He’s easy study. We spent a lot of time with him. He’s had a big impact on us.”
