Fresh Thunder of war Patch notes are available here for the new Leviathans update. The latest overhaul of Gaijin Entertainment enhances a combat simulator with a vast array of tanks, SAM vehicles, aircraft and battleships, including some of the most famous names in the Naval War. There will also be a new map update, the introduction of a Multibievable SAM system, and interface overhauls such as a dedicated radar control screen and additional action panel buttons.

With a large number of peak players who are slightly embarrassed at the 100,000 mark each day, the free steam game continues to be the best war game fixture with full cross-play and impressive visuals and sound design, with cross-platform PVE and PVP battles. The New War Thunder Leviathans update is the second major patch for 2025, bringing a huge number of additional vehicles into the mix and a welcome Life of Life upgrade.

Perhaps the biggest winner here is the introduction of multiple iconic battleships. Update names are available from Yamato, Bismarck, USS Iowa, HMS Vanguard, Sovetsky Soyuz, and more. Inside the sky is the RAH-66 Comanche, carrying a complete complement of Stenger, Hydra Rocket and Hellfire BS. Japan has acquired a Jet F-2A derived from the F-16, which can easily handle air and ground targets, and German trees have a new subset of Swiss aircraft.

However, the Leviathan is not loose on the ground side. We present the first multi-veller SAM system that makes up the US claws, German IRIS-T SLM, and Japanese tanning chi. These will lay you in a “hub” vehicle with radar that can place the launcher and switch it over. The new dedicated radar control screen displays a 360-degree display around you, allowing you to switch tracked targets on the fly.

First-class aviation battles will acquire the Falkland Islands, a new location that spans 130 x 130 km in size, providing ample space for dogfights across hills and lawn plains. Both the Berlin and Kuban ground maps are given visual overhauls, but Gaijin says these changes will very minimally affect gameplay.

On the UI side, the Actions panel handles key features that handle some new buttons, such as storing/extending landing gear, shifting to hover mode, turning on seeker, and more, allowing quick access without having to remember specific key bindings. Cards will be displayed when destroyed, indicating the attacker’s vehicle type and the ammunition they used. If you want to show off in the sky, the F-111 can refuel a dump to fuel burning and create a large flame jet behind it.

The Warthunder Leviathan update will begin on Wednesday, June 25th. Courtesy of Gaijin Entertainment, you can read the full patch notes to get a closer look at the changes. Most notably, if you destroy an enemy aircraft carrier, you will not immediately win a realistic battle in the air, and the computer-controlled gunners on the ship will be less accurate and are more likely to succeed from above with a smart approach and active maneuvering.
