Trump administration officials have sent a letter to the Justice Department introducing her to the criminal prosecution.
New York Attorney General Letitia James responded to a letter cited Trump administration officials for prosecuting her for alleged mortgage fraud, saying the allegations were “baseless.”
“Let’s tell every New Yorker and every American. The allegations are unfounded. The allegations are nothing more than a revenge tour,” she said.
“I will not be silent. I will not be bullied. I will not bend. I will not break. And I will not bow to anyone. No one, including these US presidents, is beyond the law.”
James told the outlet that her office would officially respond to Pulte’s letters “at the right time and in the right way.”
“I’m once again focusing more on facing the freedom, freedom and the rule of law in New York,” she said.
“This includes 1) the possibility of forging a residence in a Norfolk, Virginia-based home to ensure a low mortgage rate.
James was also accused by Pulte of failing to accurately represent the description of the property he owns in Brooklyn to meet the requirements for securing a federal loan.
“For both properties mentioned above, (she) appears to have falsified records to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms,” Pulte argued.
And in 1983, according to a crime introduction, James and her father said they were married to get a mortgage, and it is said they did so again in a document dated May 2000.
In response to Pulte’s introduction, Bondi told Fox News Wednesday that her office is currently “reviewing” the issue, but noted that no one in her office has read it yet. A James spokesman told the Epoch Times Thursday that her office considers the introduction to be the rule of law and the federal weaponization of the constitution.
Last year, a judge discovered that Trump, a Trump organization, and his two sons, committed fraud and ordered them to pay $454 million. The ruling, which criticised Trump for being naturally politically biased, has since been appealed.
